Return and Refund Policy

At African Delights, we are committed to providing you with the best experience possible. If something isn’t right with your order, we're here to help. Please read our policy carefully before requesting a return or refund.

By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

Return Window and Eligibility

• Returns are accepted within 14 days of the order delivery date.

• Customer provides return shipping.

• A 5% restocking fee applies to all returned items.

• Perishable, frozen, and heavy items are non-returnable and non-refundable.

Customer-Fault Returns (Store Credit)
Returns initiated for reasons not caused by African Delights—including but not limited to change of mind, wrong item/variant/size ordered, misunderstanding of promotions (including free-shipping eligibility), incorrect or undeliverable address, or refused/unclaimed deliveries—are refunded as store credit (digital gift card). Original shipping is non-refundable; return shipping is the customer’s responsibility; a 5% restocking fee applies. Store credit has no expiration and is not redeemable for cash except where required by law.

Cancellations

• Before Shipment: Orders canceled for reasons not caused by us may be refunded as store credit (digital gift card) or, upon request, to the original payment method where required by law.

• After Shipment / Label Created: Orders cannot be canceled. Eligible items may be returned under our Return & Refund Policy. If a shipment is refused, unclaimed, or returned to sender due to customer-provided details, we will issue store credit minus original shipping, any carrier return fees, and the 5% restocking fee after the item is received and inspected.

Return Instructions

To initiate a return, please visit your customer account at https://account.africandelightstore.com – no password required. Once approved, you’ll receive instructions for return. Refunds will be processed after we receive and inspect the item.

Issues with Your Order?

Lost or Undelivered Orders

If your order has not been delivered within seven (7) days after the latest delivery date or the carrier’s estimated delivery date, it may be eligible for a lost package reimbursement.

Please note: Orders marked as delivered by the carrier are not eligible for reimbursement.

All orders shipped via eligible carriers include tracking, and many include insurance coverage provided by the carrier. Once an order has been accepted by the carrier, responsibility for delivery transfers to the carrier.

If a shipment is marked as undeliverable, lost, or delayed by the carrier, the buyer is responsible for contacting the carrier directly to locate the package or file an insurance claim.

The store is not responsible for carrier delivery errors, lost or undeliverable packages due to address issues, or packages marked as delivered but not received. Refunds or replacements will not be issued for these cases unless reimbursement is received from the carrier.

If your order appears to be lost or is missing, please contact us—we’ll assist with tracking and guide you through the next steps.

Orders returned to sender as refused, unclaimed, or undeliverable based on customer-provided details will be processed as a customer-fault return and refunded as store credit minus original shipping, any carrier return fees, and the 5% restocking fee.

Missing Item in Box

Please reply to your order email with your original order number and either a photo of the inside of the shipping box showing the received items (if you received some items) or a photo of the empty box (if only one item was expected).

Wrong Item Received

Please reply to your order email with your order number along with the name of the product received, a short description of how it differs from what was ordered, and a photo clearly showing the item and its label.

Damaged Item Received

Please reply to your order email with your order number, the name of the damaged item, a brief description of the damage, and clear photos showing the entire item, the label (with size if applicable), and the damaged area.

Refund Process

Once your return is approved and received, we will process your refund as follows:

• Customer-Fault Returns: Refunded as store credit (digital gift card). Original shipping is non-refundable; return shipping is paid by the customer; a 5% restocking fee applies. Store credit has no expiration and is not redeemable for cash except where required by law.

• Our Error (wrong item shipped, verified damage, or confirmed shortage): Refunds are issued to the original payment method or we can arrange a replacement.
  Please allow up to 10 business days for refunds to appear on your statement (where applicable).
