Chocolate Covered Peanuts & Coconut Chips with Dried Fruit, Pack of 3

Two Ghanaian snacks that have almost nothing in common, sold as one pack: peanuts in a milk chocolate coating, and caramel-flavoured coconut chips run through with dried fruit. Pick a flavour and you get three sealed bags of it.

The peanut flavour is a whole peanut inside real milk chocolate, and the panel runs to six things and stops: peanuts, milk chocolate, wheat flour, eggs, sugar and salt. West and Central Africa have a long tradition of the coated groundnut, though the coating there is usually a sugar-and-spice syrup rather than chocolate. Contains peanuts, milk, wheat and egg. Three 200g bags, 600g in total.

The coconut flavour is the one that needs explaining. Its dried fruit is not tropical - no mango, no pineapple. It is sultanas, raisins, currant and candied citrus peel, the same mixed-fruit blend that goes into the British-style Christmas cakes baked across West Africa every December, here folded through crisp caramel-flavoured coconut chips. Three 120g bags, 360g in total.

Both are made in Ghana, which is among the world's top cocoa producers and West Africa's leading grower of coconut. Eat them from the bag, put them out in a bowl, or scatter the coconut one over porridge, yoghurt or a fruit loaf.
